Out my Hotel Room Window

Gina was out watering the grass this afternoon when our daughter Lindsay came to play in the water. It was a warm afternoon, so she kept running through the water and then coming back for a drink out of the hose.
She definitely doesn't mind getting wet.

Fill 'er up!

We had gone flying earlier in the week to take pictures of the Cessna 170's, so it was back to the fuel pump to get some gas. I don't keep the tanks full as it makes the airplane to heavy for me to pull it back into the hangar by myself.
And at $4.52 a gallon...it's not cheap!

You say it's your birthday...

We took Gina out for her birthday on Sunday.

She was 32, again...and again...and, well, you get the picture.

We all had a good meal and I drove home.

Dh-4 back in the air

The Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum's Dh-4 flew today after a nearly 6-month layoff.

During that time, several small maintenance items were addressed as well as the installation of a new radiator and an alternator conversion to provide the electrical power needed.

Three pilots flew the airplane on this beautiful Saturday morning.

Two Cessna 170s

Two friends flew their Cessna 170B's for me last night.

It was a beautiful night to fly, especially looking at the window at them.

Took the family to the Carnival this afternoon. Sky and I rode the swing ride several times. Lindsay had her first couple rides on the kiddie rides.

Went to a little Fund Raising Carnival last night. We stayed for about 30 minutes, just to take pictures. I always like taking night Carnival shots.

When moms away, the boys give the bath!

Gina was having dinner with her mom and going to her mom's church choir performance earlier this week. That meant Sky and I had to take care of Little Boo aka Lindsay. We fed her dinner, played with her and gave her a bath.
Later I read her books and the tucked her in for a good nights sleep.

Masking away...

I took 4 days vacation this week to help prep our house for a mini-renovation. I moved all my computer stuff in the basement so we could paint a wall, masked the living/dining room so we could paint it and basically did "honey-do's" for the wife. We want to sell our house and move a little bit west for the kids.

Ruby-Throated Hummingbird in a tree.

We've been seeing Hummingbirds for a few weeks now. Never too many at the feeder, but they've been around. I staked out their feeder with a comfortable chair and my huge-honking lense and waited.
This little male came and sat in the tree, protecting his territory. He didn't sit for long though, chasing another Hummer away from his food source.
